FOLKLORE CULTS AND ORAL TRADITIONS
"A strong wind blows and sweeps away
All that comes in its course.
The hay, the bamboo, and the grass
Still survive such a chaotic squall"
Similarly, amidst the swift changing, fast track techno world, some still live
'One with Nature'…
…To them, Nature is their invigorator;
To them, Nature is their only Origin;
To them, Nature is the grand Ultimate!
Ones who always constitute their life according to the principles of Nature, live authentically in their own existential lifestyles,
visions and mission. They are the fortunate ones carrying the Ancestral Treasures with them and offer it to the forthcoming generation.
These, valuable Ancestral Treasure Chests are filled with the wondrous mysteries of Mother Nature - a pure essence of authentic spiritual
insights and experiences perfectly mingled with the daily chores of life - Sap of Life.
This is what makes for true Tradition - an ongoing sharing of the Sap of Life, amongst fellow beings hailing from the same land, as a
people with a unique mode of living. Such Traditions are nowadays rarely seen but do exist. They survive far away from the mechanical and techno-world societies of the present-day.
Ancient Traditions are often called 'Folklore' and a host of lineages get included under this broad and generous banner. Unlike the iron
handed societies of today, the ancient Folklores act as versatile canals, wide enough to hold in Her arms all natures of Life expressions. The ancient Siddha Folklore include: Oral
lineage, Wandering lineage, Guardian lineage
Branching from one Tradition, these dimensions of Truth get their name according to how they are taught, the manner in which they are
carried on from generation to generation, and the attitude of living by It.
The word 'Siddha' means Mystic. These Ancient Mystics have shared to their fellow people…
…What They realised as - the Ultimate,
What They realised as - the way of living,
What They realised as - ceremonies celebrating a Life One with Nature,
What They realised as - the healing elements
That cure diseases afflicting human body, mind and spirit…
These 'ways' can be classified into two: The first way is when spiritual enlightenment is shared from a single person to another single
person. This falls under the way of the Oral of Mystic lineage. And the second is when teachings about the act of life spread into a group of people and grow to form the people's day
to day way of living, helping them fulfil their life's mission. Traditions, Folklore societies etc were born in this manner.
In an Oral or Mystic Lineage, secret spiritual teachings are passed on or transmitted on a one to one basis - orally, ear to ear. In this
way, the Oral Lineage keep the secrets well guarded as none of the teachings are physically written down nor are any of them institutionalised via other conventional approaches. The
prime reason for secrecy being the underlying strength contained within these powerful teachings. If they are made freely available even to an unprepared psyche, in other words an
immature person, who may not be ripe and ready to imbibe them, it can cause harm. Therefore, this tradition till date is kept alive by a chosen few.
The Folklore Tradition is about Worshippers of Nature, none other than the ones who live in the Way of Nature itself. They fulfil their
life's needs learning from Mother Nature; preparing healing medicines, pre-sensing natural calamities and adoring Nature by mystical ceremonies etc…this way of living is still
preserved under the way of the Folklore.
